Classes

There are a variety of online and face to face classes (both indoors and outdoors) plus workshops with women over 40 in mind.

Whether you’re looking to become more active, feel stronger and better about yourself, I’m sure you will find the right class just right for you.

You might be a woman who loathes exercise, has never classed yourself as sporty and simply looking to keep doing the things you love as you age.

The Stronger for Longer Club is a great place to start.  We have also just welcomed our first International customer, so it doesn’t matter if you don’t live in Worcestershire.

As women over 40, we feel more nervous and less confident about trying new things.  The fitness industry can certainly make us feel inadequate or overwhelmed.

I’m here to inspire and empower you to feel more confident so that exercise is playful, fun and motivating.  I also want to help you realise that no matter what shape or size you are exercise is for everyone and is always welcoming and inclusive.

We also love to try new activities together.  So far we have been paddle boarding, climbing, bungee fitness, boogie bounce, wobble board and cold water swimming.

Why not take a look at the classes and workshops currently on offer below.  Head to the Book Now button and my Eventbrite to see what’s coming up.

Stronger for longer club

This is a great place for beginners to start. It's my low cost monthly online membership aimed at helping women find simple ways to include movement habits into your lifestyle, without it feeling like it's exercise.

Every month we have a new topic and we also have a Book Club, which we read together and review every month.

Our topic for September is 'September 1000'. Over the course of the month we have been collectively accumulating 1000 outdoorsy mins every month, plus 1000 reps in our online class.

It's just £20 a month. Click on the 'find out more' button below.

What's included every month:
* ONE live class every week. This is called Movement Strong, it's a 45 mins class and is every Monday at 6pm. Also recorded, so don't worry if you can't make the live class.
* Plus 6-8 pre-recorded new exercises or workouts for you to try every month. This might be a stretchy one, breathwork, a cardio one or maybe a bit of flexibility and mobility.
* Book Club - every month we read a new book together and at the end of the month we get together to see what we thought.
* You will also have exclusive access to our What's app group for motivation, support and accountability. I also post weekly tips and prompts to help keep you active, strong and movement inspired.
* 20% off all other face to face activities.
* Plus a library of over 100 workouts, classes, taster sessions, challenges, webinars and e-books to download.

An Introduction to using the Ordnance Survey (OS) maps app

Saturday 25 October, 2pm

Are you looking to plan your own walking routes? Would you like to feel more confident using the OS maps app?

During the session we will:

* Understand the features available to us on the OS maps app

* Familiarise ourselves with map features - What do we know already know? Which ones do we need to build our knowledge of?

* How to create a route using OS maps app using the tools available

* How to navigate with the OS maps app whilst on a walk

* How to orientate our electronic map

The session will start off at my studio where we can get to know each other and have some fun with map feature bingo and familiarising ourselves with the app. Together we will then plot a route, before heading out on some local footpaths and bridleways using our technology to help us. We will be walking for 60 mins max and we will be walking and stopping a lot throughout the session, so please don't worry about your fitness.

What people say?

I was really worried about signing up to the 'Stronger for longer membership' as I haven’t exercised in years. I am newly retired, over weight and didn’t want people to see me exercising. I love how the movements we learn can easily be integrated into your day. I now love getting out of bed every morning to try my balance challenge whilst brushing my teeth.

I have been attending Rachel's Outdoor classes now for almost a year and I absolutely love them. As a cyclist and runner I know the importance of strength training but don't like typical gym based strength classes. What has been most noticeable is I used to have a shoulder injury and since doing these classes my injury has now completely gone and my running and cycling is improving. Thank you Rachel.

FAQ's

It depends on what type of class  or session you are looking at.  I offer a broad range of activities which caters for the complete beginner up to more experienced and fitter individuals.  All classes and activities will be given a level type it’s suitable for, but if you’re not sure then please get in touch.

I have a range of cycling programmes on offer from the complete beginner to those who would like to take on a 100km bike ride.  For my zero to cycling hero programme it doesn’t matter what type of bike you have, in fact we would love it if you’ve just dusted off your bike and haven’t ridden it for years.  For the Sportdivas course you will need a hybrid with road tyres or a road bike.

All of my guided walks are graded, as well as information about the distance.  My guided walks will vary from Easy to Moderate and Challenging or Strenuous.

Our community is about supporting women together to enjoy walking together, so therefore we never leave anyone behind and will always walk at the pace of the slowest walker.

If you’re not sure if the walk is the right level for you, then please get in touch, I’m always happy to chat on the phone.

You don’t need any specialist equipment.  I never want equipment to be a barrier for you enjoying moving.

In fact I would always encourage you to use things that you would most likely have at home.

For any specialist workshops introducing you to a new piece of equipment then these will be included in the cost of the class.

The face to face activities will vary in venue, especially the guided walks and the cycling programmes, as these tend to move around each week/month.  I often use Norton Parish Hall and my studio which is based in Malvern.  All activities will give you details about the venue location first.

Yes absolutely.  Most of my clients come to my studio but the beauty of personal coaching is it’s tailored for you and that includes the venue, so if you’d like 1:1 coaching at your home then please get in touch.

That’s fine, let’s chat first.  All of my clients are screened before you take part in an activity, this is so I can get some more information about any injuries or previous medical history so that I can advise you accordingly and offer you the right support.

As with equipment, I never want kit or clothing to be a barrier for you.  In fact you can come join any of my online classes in your PJs if that suits.

My guided walks take place all year round, so I will always advise you on a kit list on what to bring for each walk.  If there is anything you need and you’re not sure of, then charity shops, Facebook Marketplace or Vinted are a great place to search for these things.

For my cycling programmes you just need to be in something your comfortable in.  I always want to help you find ways to normalise cycling, so that it’s not about the kit.
